GuySuCo Advertises Eight Albion and Blairmont Packages for 17 November Deadline

Official GuySuCo tender advertisement listing seven equipment packages for Albion and Blairmont estates.

An industrial supplier opening GuySuCo’s latest advertisements encounters two notices, one submission deadline and eight procurement packages. Cross-checking the Corporation’s current eProcurement portal then reveals an important difference: the portal exposes seven of those opportunities and uses a revised reference for the Albion chimney retender.

The Guyana Sugar Corporation published the invitations on 2 November. Seven packages cover factory and power equipment for Albion and Blairmont estates, while a separate retender seeks rehabilitation of Albion’s No. 1 boiler chimney.

Both advertisements say domestic and international bids are accepted and place the submission deadline at 09:00 on Tuesday, 17 November 2026. The chimney package has an earlier compulsory milestone: a site meeting at Albion Estate’s entrance gate at 10:00 on 10 November.

The advertisements announce supplier opportunities. The portal currently lists seven of them as public tenders and provides the controlling downloads. Neither source discloses every estimated value, quantity, technical specification, delivery period, bid-security requirement or qualification criterion on its face. Those details must be taken from the current bidding documents and any addenda—not from an editorial summary.

Seven equipment packages across two estates

Five of the advertised supply packages relate to Albion Estate:

  • new imbibition pumps;
  • temperature gauges;
  • a molasses conditioner;
  • insulation materials for steam piping and boilers; and
  • a new bagasse baler.

Two further packages relate to Blairmont Estate: a retender for one 700-kilowatt diesel generator and the supply of an auto-transformer starter and motor for induced-draught fans serving boilers.

The equipment list spans several stages of sugar-factory operation. Imbibition equipment supports the cane-milling and juice-extraction process. Steam-pipe and boiler insulation affects thermal management. Bagasse handling, molasses processing, boiler fans and standby generation each serve different parts of factory operations.

That mix signals demand for specialised industrial goods, but it does not establish that every package represents an expansion of factory capacity. Some items may replace, rehabilitate or support existing systems. GuySuCo has not published quantities, installation scope, commissioning obligations or expected production effects in the advertisements reviewed.

Prospective suppliers therefore need the complete technical schedules before deciding whether they can quote competitively. A manufacturer able to supply a generator may not have the installation, testing or after-sales capability required by the controlling documents. Likewise, an insulation supplier must determine the specified materials, dimensions, temperature ratings, standards and delivery terms rather than pricing from the advertisement’s short description.

The chimney retender carries a compulsory site meeting

The eighth opportunity is a retender for rehabilitation of Albion Estate’s No. 1 boiler chimney. The notice makes attendance at the 10 November site meeting compulsory and identifies Albion’s entrance gate as the meeting point.

That requirement materially changes the bid timetable. A contractor that waits until the 17 November submission date to assess the opportunity may already be ineligible if it did not complete the required site meeting.

The notice does not say why the work is being retendered. A retender can occur for several procurement reasons, and no conclusion should be drawn about the earlier process, the condition of the chimney or the value of the work without further official documentation.

The chimney notice states that bids should remain valid for 120 days from bid opening. The equipment advertisement does not state a validity period on its face. Suppliers should not assume that the 120-day term automatically applies to the equipment packages; the relevant bidding document controls each submission.

The portal corrects one reference and leaves another package to confirm

The two 2 November advertisements use CAA078/2026 for different procurement descriptions. The chimney notice assigns it to the Albion boiler-chimney rehabilitation retender, while the equipment notice assigns it to insulation materials for Albion’s steam piping and boilers.

GuySuCo’s current eProcurement portal appears to resolve that conflict. It lists the insulation package as NPTAB CAA078-2026 and the chimney retender as NPTAB CAA085/2026, Revision 1. A bidder should use the current portal package and any later addendum, while confirming the exact identifier before placing it on envelopes, forms, bid securities or correspondence.

The portal creates a separate availability question. The equipment advertisement includes CAA070/2026, the Albion molasses-conditioner package, but that opportunity was not visible in the portal’s current public-tender table when Invest Guyana rechecked it on 3 November. Suppliers interested in that package should confirm directly with GuySuCo whether it remains open and obtain the current bidding document before preparing a submission.

These are not minor editorial details. Procurement identifiers, document availability and submission instructions help determine whether a bid reaches the correct process. Where an advertisement, portal entry and downloaded package differ, the bidder should seek formal clarification through the authorised channel and retain the response with its bid file.

How suppliers obtain and submit the documents

GuySuCo says complete bidding documents can be downloaded from its corporate website and electronic-procurement website. Printed copies are also offered for a non-refundable G$2,000 payment at the cashier at GuySuCo’s head office at LBI Estate, La Bonne Intention, with collection through the Procurement and Contract Management Department after presentation of the receipt.

The advertisements direct bidders to deposit submissions in the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board tender box at the Ministry of Finance, Main and Urquhart streets, Georgetown. Bid opening is scheduled for the submission deadline, with bidders or their representatives able to attend. Late bids will be rejected.

Before submission, a supplier should reconcile the advertisement against the bidding document and any addendum. The checklist should include the exact procurement identifier, eligibility and registration rules, signed forms, bid security where required, technical compliance, manufacturer authorisation, experience, tax and statutory records, delivery terms, currency, packaging, warranty and the physical submission format.

International suppliers should also test the local-delivery model. Freight, customs clearance, inland transport, installation labour, commissioning, training, spare parts, warranty response and foreign-exchange exposure can materially affect the commercial price. A low equipment price does not necessarily produce a deliverable or compliant bid.

What the notices do—and do not—show

The invitations show active procurement demand at two operating sugar estates. They create an opportunity for manufacturers, authorised dealers, industrial contractors and specialist service providers to assess whether their capabilities fit the packages.

They do not show that contracts have been awarded, funds have been paid or the equipment has been ordered. They also do not establish the future production level of Albion or Blairmont, the condition of existing equipment or the financial return expected from the purchases.

The next verifiable milestones are any addendum or clarification affecting the advertised packages, completion of the compulsory site meeting, bid opening, evaluation and an official award notice. Until then, the investor-grade conclusion is narrow but useful: GuySuCo advertised eight procurement routes with a common 17 November deadline, while its current portal exposes seven. Suppliers have limited time to confirm availability, retrieve the controlling documents and decide whether they can submit a compliant commercial offer.
