Guyana businesses offered entry to global gas conference

The United States Commercial Service and US Embassy in Georgetown are organising Guyana’s first official business delegation to the Gastech conference, scheduled for September 14-17 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Gastech brings together companies and policymakers involved in natural gas, LNG, hydrogen, climate technology and energy infrastructure.

Participants in the Guyanese delegation will have access to selected business-matching and networking opportunities with international companies and government officials. The participation fee is listed as US$750 per person, excluding other travel-related expenses.

The initiative is an export-development and partnership opportunity rather than a confirmed investment. Its value will depend on whether participating Guyanese companies can convert introductions into contracts, technical partnerships or market access.

The timing is relevant as Guyana moves beyond crude-oil production towards natural-gas processing, electricity generation and possible downstream manufacturing. Local firms seeking work in those sectors will require international relationships, technical certifications and access to specialised equipment and expertise.
