GCCI, ANSA McAL Partnership to Strengthen Export Capacity and Unlock New Market Opportunities

The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) is advancing its strategic agenda to enhance Guyana’s private sector competitiveness by fostering partnerships aimed at expanding market access and strengthening investment opportunities for local businesses.

GCCI President, Kathy Smith, Senior Vice President, Gavin Ramsoondar, Past President , Kester Hutson, and Executive Member, Delmar Walcott met with General Manager of ANSA McAL Distribution Inc., Padma De Lima, to explore collaborative initiatives designed to support business growth and export expansion.

A key outcome of the discussions was a commitment by both organisations to jointly host an export readiness workshop that will equip GCCI members with the knowledge, tools, and market intelligence needed to access regional and international markets where ANSA McAL operates. The initiative is expected to position local enterprises to scale operations, diversify revenue streams, and increase export earnings.

The meeting also examined opportunities to strengthen workforce productivity and employee retention through the potential introduction of a daycare initiative within ANSA McAL, aligned with the programme launched by the GCCI in partnership with the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security.

Through strategic partnerships and targeted capacity-building initiatives, the GCCI remains committed to creating an enabling environment for investment, innovation, and sustainable private sector growth in Guyana.
