Suriname’s energy outlook continues to centre on the US$10.5 billion GranMorgu development in offshore Block 58, where production is expected to begin in 2028.
TotalEnergies plans to conduct another multi-well drilling campaign as it searches for additional resources beyond those already committed to the country’s first major offshore development.
GranMorgu is expected to produce approximately 220,000 barrels per day through a floating production, storage and offloading vessel. The project is being developed by TotalEnergies, APA Corporation and Suriname’s state-owned Staatsolie.
Although there was no major new GranMorgu announcement on August 3, the project remains important to investors because procurement, workforce development and supporting infrastructure are advancing ahead of first oil.
Companies providing engineering, fabrication, logistics, marine transport, training, accommodation and technical services could benefit as construction activity intensifies.
