Guyanese 18 years and older to receive $100K cash grant in 2026

President of Guyana Dr. Irfaan Ali, on Wednesday announced that his Administration will allocate funds in the 2026 National Budget for a $100,000 cash grant to be paid to every Guyanese aged 18 and older.

The Guyanese Leader, who addressed a gathering that included ministers and diplomats at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre (ACCC), said the payment is being included in the upcoming budget package, which is expected to be presented early next year.

“Budget 2026 will make provision for a cash grant of $100,000 to be paid to every citizen in Guyana who is 18 years of age and older,” he told the gathering.

The President also indicated the grant forms part of a broader, multi-year approach to direct transfers, noting that “other cash grants will be paid during the course of the next five years.”

Only last year, the Dr. Ali-led Administration rolled out a $100,000 cash grant to every citizen aged 18 years and older.
